There are a number of court proceedings happening at the Indiana County Courthouse today.
That includes a jury trial for 45-year-old Jonathan Thoma, who is formerly from Seward and is now listed as being from Blairsville. Thoma also has pending cases in Cambria and Blair counties. Here in Indiana County, he’s charged with false identification to law enforcement and disorderly conduct engaging in fighting for an incident last August. Charges of flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest were previously dismissed.
Thoma’s case in Blair County involves a high-speed chase in February of 2017. In Cambria County, Thoma has an inactive case for a probation violation in a theft case.
Also in Indiana County Court today, there is a jury trial scheduled for 46-year-old Jeanine Moore of Clymer in a theft case.
Six defendants will face non-jury trials for violations of prior court orders.
Several defendants are scheduled for sentencing today, including 27-year-old Addison McCracken of Indiana, who bit a Citizens Ambulance EMT last May after he was found passed out behind the Payless shoe store along Oakland Avenue in White Township. McCracken, who has four previous convictions in Indiana County, pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering, institutional vandalism, resisting arrest, and three summary offenses.
23-year-old Andre Reis of Indiana will be sentenced for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
27-year-old Marcus Harden on Sharon will be sentenced for conspiracy to theft in a robbery case.
