IUP has named a new Chief Diversity and Inclusion officer, and for some, the name may be familiar
During his “50 minutes with President” presentation on Friday, IUP president Michael Driscoll announced that the university’s Title IX Coordinator Elise Glenn has been named to the new position. She will continue to serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator. She will report to President Driscoll as a member of the president’s cabinet, and she will also guide the President’s office of Social Equity. Her mission will be to direct the office to accelerate progress towards the vision of IUP that promotes inclusion and celebrates diversity and equality.
Also, over the next year and a half, President Driscoll will be going on what he’s dubbed a “Listening Tour” of all the sections of the university and talk with various groups of people, including students, to talk about what barriers have stopped areas from being more successful, and it will also give Driscoll a chance to offer up some of his own thoughts.
