Indiana Borough Police have charged 30-year-old Amelia Furbee of Derry with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on the night of January 1st at the Sheetz at 4th and Philadelphia Streets. Police were dispatched for a report of two females possibly involved in drug activity. They found Furbee with seventeen stamp bags of heroin, three hypodermic needles, a crack pipe, metal spoon, and a rubber band used for a tourniquet. The charges were filed before District Judge Guy Haberl.
Borough Police have filed retail theft charges against 33-year-old Heather Shank of Indiana, also for an incident at the 4th Street Sheetz on the night of January 1st. Police say Shank took merchandise and left the store without paying.
In yet another incident at the same store, Borough Police have charged Melissa Erb of Marion Center with retail theft, public drunkenness, and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident Friday night. Police were called for an intoxicated woman and found Erb “manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance.”
