Members of several veterans organizations will be camping out in front of the Wal-Mart in White Township to raise awareness to the plight of homeless veterans.
Starting today, and going until 8:00 AM Sunday morning, members of Team Red White and Blue along with IUP’s Rho Tau Chi military fraternity and IUP’s ROTC will camp out in tents and cardboard boxes in front of the Wal-Mart in White Township to raise awareness for homeless veterans in the county. Participants will essentially live the life of a homeless vet for 24 hours, and live off of donations from the community, and they will also accept financial donations for homeless veterans causes.
In the past, money that has been raised has gone to places like the Homeless Veterans Parsonage, which is the former parsonage of the Church of the Brethren in Indiana.
