Kathy Jane Shank, 71, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at her home.
A daughter of the late William and Lorene Miller Thomas, she was born May 30, 1947, in Youngwood.
Kathy was a graduate of Indiana High School, Class of 1965. She was a school crossing guard in Indiana Borough for 40 years and helped her husband Denny in the family business, Shank’s Plumbing and Heating. Kathy had a unique and colorful sense of humor, and loved to make people smile. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family, gardening outside and she had a love of succulents (cacti). Kathy would want to be remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laugh and lack of filter.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dennis Wayne Shank, of Indiana; four children: Kirk Robert Shank, of Indiana; Jason William Shank and wife Stephanie, of Findlay, OH; Misty Jo Takach and husband Matthew, of Indiana; and Noah Bryant Shank, of Indiana; two brothers: William Thomas, of Fla.; Ricky Thomas, of New Mexico; and a sister, Judy Bengston, of Indiana; five grandchildren: Toby Tyler Takach, Hunter Stephen Takach, Eli Oscar Shank, Zander Isaac Shank, Joshua James Kundla and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Toby Bryant Shank.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Robinson-Lytle, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
