IUP has a number of events scheduled today, focused on student retention, diversity and inclusion.
The first event is “A Summit on Student Success and Retention”, from 8 AM to 12:30 PM in the HUB Ohio Room. The keynote speaker will be Sarah Vandermark, the Assistant Provost for Student Success at New Jersey City University. The event will also include updates on IUP’s university-wide Retention and Persistence Committee. Student retention has been identified as one of the key areas in need of improvement as the university seeks to increase enrollment numbers.
This afternoon at two o’clock, the university staff and students are invited to spend “50 Minutes with President Driscoll”. IUP President Mike Driscoll will talk about student success, the university’s strategic plan, and other topics.
Starting at 3:30 this afternoon, the IUP and Indiana area communities are encouraged to attend the fifth in a series of events advancing diversity and inclusion in higher education. Joe Bandy of Vanderbilt University will give the keynote address in Room 114 at the Humanities and Social Sciences Building.
