The Indiana County Commissioners approved two contracts for projects related to the multi-modal initiative.
At Wednesday morning’s meeting, the Commissioners approved a Contraction with Environmental Planning and Design for the northern end of the Hoodlebug trail to connect it through IUP campus and Indiana Borough, ending at the borough parking lot at Eighth and Gompers. Krug said a final plan display will be ready in April, and the project should be complete in July of this year.
A similar contract was approved for a project on the southern end of the Hoodlebug Trail, with county engineers Gibson Thomas to take on the same tasks for the Route 22 Pedestrian-Bike Bridge Final Design. Jeff Raykes said that they hope to start construction on this project by the end of the year.
