Curtis L. Reed, age 83 of Indiana, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in 1935 in Indiana to Preston L. and Marybelle Ruffner Reed.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Curtis was also a member of the FOP Lodge #33, Indiana; a 20 year member of the Indiana Volunteer Fire Dept., and a former member of the Indiana Sportsman Club, and a life-time member of the Lick Run Rod and Gun Club, Huntingdon.
Curtis enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s athletic events, spending time with his family and hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Malcolm, Indiana; one son and one daughter, Vicki Wilson and husband Harold, Indiana; Samuel Reed and wife Dianne, Howard; five grandchildren, Melanie Martin and husband Rock, Indiana; Megan Ringler and husband Nick, Lucernemines; Melissa Wilson and fiancé’ Mark Novak, Meadville, Olivia Reed, Howard; Preston Reed, Howard; two great grandchildren, Colton Ringler and Easton Ringler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by the following siblings, John, Ross and Ward Reed, and Doris Mack.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 8 P.M. with the Rev. Howard Greenfield officiating. Interment will be made on Thursday at 11 A.M. in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
