Before the largest crowd of the season, 2,670 , the IUP basketball teams swept Slippery Rock last night.
The women clinched a playoff berth with an 88-51 victory. Natalie Myers was perfect from the field, leading the way with 17 points, as the team shot 54
percent from the field for the game. Lauren Wolosik had 16 points and Carolyn Appleby 13 . The team improved to 19-1.
Winning their 20th game of the year, the men cruised to a 77-48 win, holding Slippery Rock to 26 percent shooting, while out rebounding the Rock, 46-25.
Malik Miller led the scoring parade with 21 points and Cobo Diaz added 19. Diaz passed Hall of Famer Jack Crossan on the all-time scoring list to move into seventh place.
With the victory, the Crimson Hawks have sole possession of first place in the West Division.
