Fair warning today from the state police: “Operation Yellow Jacket” is back.
State police will partner with PennDOT today and tomorrow for a traffic enforcement effort on Indiana County highways. State troopers will be in the yellow PennDOT highway maintenance vehicles you typically see along our area roads. Should they see violations, they will radio ahead to patrol units, and the offenders will be pulled over.
Specifically, troopers will be focused on speeding and the state’s Steer Clear Law, which requires that drivers approaching an emergency response area pull over into an adjacent lane, if possible, and pass the scene at a careful and reduced speed.
Police do not identify which roadways they plan to set up on, but you have been warned! Don’t get stung by a yellow jacket!
