A man was arrested for passing counterfeit bills in White Township last Friday afternoon, and state police have issued a warning to local businesses to be on the alert for more phony money.
Police are withholding the name of the suspect, who they is a 30-year-old man from jersey City, New Jersey. He’s accused of passing multiple counterfeit twenty-dollar bills at the Petco and Olympia Sports stores in the Southtowne Plaza.
The suspect is known for this type of scam and business owners should be watching out for more phony bills. It’s recommended that money be checked with a bill ID machine or ink, and anything suspicious be reported to state police at 357-1960.
