It’s only the beginning of the month, but two of the state police “Five Most Wanted” fugitives for February have now been apprehended.
Police report that 44-year-old Joseph John Benko of Clymer was taken into custody without incident yesterday at a location within Indiana County, after they received a tip from a citizen. Benko was arraigned before District Judge Susanne Steffee and ordered held at the Indiana County Jail on $1,500 bond.
Benko had been wanted on felony charges for the sale or transfer of a firearm in Homer City in 2017. He will have a preliminary hearing on February 19th.
Benko’s arrest leaves three fugitives on the Five Most Wanted list for Indiana County. 44-year-old Anthony Cocco of Windber was taken into custody on an earlier date. 26-year-old Jacie Nicole Long of Indiana is wanted in a drug case; 41-year-old Kevin Dillie of Bentleyville is wanted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; 46-year-old Dakar Jones of Monroeville is wanted for felony robbery of a motor vehicle.
