It’s a PSAC West doubleheader tomorrow night at the KCAC when IUP will play host to the Mercyhurst Lakers.
IUP won the first meeting between the teams. The IUP women are 17-1 and ranked No. 5 in the nation. In their last game Wednesday, the Crimson Hawks lead by 30 points at one point in the first half, only to be outscored in the second half.
Coach Tom McConnell said even though it was a win, it also was a learning experience.
In game two, the men are looking for win number 20 and a couple of milestones should be set. Point guard Dante Lombardi needs just two assists to set the IUP all-time record and Cobo Diaz is just five rebounds from 1,000 in his career. Coach Joe Lombardi says milestones are nice, but the bottom line is winning.
