The Indiana Area and Marion Center school boards meet tonight, with mostly routine matters on their agendas.
One item of note for the Indiana board is a motion to change to a new supplier of substitute teachers, teacher aides, instructional aides and administrative assistants, and the required notification of cancellation to the firm the district currently uses. There are also two motions to consider for long-term substitute teachers, and a number of board policies to approve.
Marion Center’s agenda includes a resolution for the district to not exceed their Act 1 real estate tax index of 3.2 percent.
The board will also take up a motion to approve a medical sabbatical for high school principal Matt Jioio beginning with the second semester of the current school year. And there is a lengthy list of personnel moves involving staff across the employment spectrum. Included among them is a motion for Mark Magolis to take over as athletic director for the remainder of the school year. Coaching moves include the rehiring of Adam Rising as football coach, Chris Peters as cross country coach, and Lacie Cook as volleyball coach.
