The Indiana Regional Medical Center has presented the Indiana Registered Nurses Association with their “Last, Best and Final Offer” for a new contract.
According to a statement from IRMC, the offer is a three-year contract that would include 6.5% wage increase over the term of the contract, increasing the average nurse’s salary to over $70,000. The offer would also propose that the registered nurses begin contributing the same premiums for health insurance coverage as all other IRMC employees as of April 1st of this year. IRMC stated that this would keep contributions below the national benchmarks for employee contributions.
In their own statement, IRNA called the new offer a “disappointment”, saying that the increase in health insurance premiums would drastically reduce the take home pay for the nurses, even with the wage increases proposed.
Another bargaining session is set for January 28th from 6-8 PM.
