State police have issued reports on two accidents that happened on Monday, one in the morning and one that evening.
25-year-old Jennifer Wetzel of Rochester Mills escaped injury Monday morning when her car hit a patch of ice on Route 403 in Green Township. Police say the car fishtailed out on control on a curve, crossed over the road and back again, leaving the highway, striking a sign and going over an embankment.
Two Blairsville residents were uninjured in an accident just before 8 PM on Monday along Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township. State police say a vehicle operated by 81-year-old Barry Smith left the road on a left-hand curve just south of Locust Street in Cramer. The Kia Sportage entered the parking lot of a truck parts dealer and struck two unoccupied vehicles and a garbage dumpster before flipping onto its driver’s side.
Both Smith and 77-year-old Carolyn Smith declined to be taken to the hospital for evaluation.
