The upcoming winter storm is expected to play havoc with events this weekend, including at IUP as this weekend is move-in weekend.
IUP has already postponed today’s basketball game at the KCAC against Edinboro to Monday to avoid the storm. The women’s game will tip off at 1:00 PM and the men’s game will tip off approximately 3:00 PM. Season and individual game tickets that were purchased for today’s game will be honored for Monday’s game, and the First Commonwealth promotion planned for today will be used on Monday.
As far as move-in goes, students can move back into their residence halls anytime over the weekend. Folger Dining Hall will be open today for students who have meal plans, and the meal plans will be honored starting today.
However, one big change will be for the university’s “Break Buses”. These are buses that provide transportation from IUP to points in the eastern parts of the state. The arrival of those buses will be delayed 20 hours and return to IUP on January 21st, not on the 20th. This was in response to Governor Wolf’s state of emergency declaration and PennDOT’s closure of commercial traffic on most interstates and the turnpike. Students will be contacted by email and text messages for the schedule changes.
