An Ernest man is now facing multiple drug charges for an incident in Indiana Borough on Friday.
State police say that Jeremy Michael Clawson was driving in the area of North Foundry Avenue and Philadelphia Street around 12:43 PM on Friday when police saw him commit a traffic violation. Police pulled Clawson over at the area of Medlar and Pompano drive in the Copper Beech area of White Township. He was taken into custody on a felony arrest warrant.
When police searched him and his car, police found a small amount of marijuana concealed on his person. He was also in possession of a plastic one-liter bottle in the passenger-seat area. The bottle was found to contain materials believed to be related to the production of methamphetamine. Police believed that Clawson was using the “one-pot” method of producing the drug.
State police brought out their Clandestine Laboratory Response Team to safely process, inventory and collect the suspected methamphetamine, and as part of that routine, the Indiana Fire Association was called out to the scene.
Clawson faces felony counts of operating a meth lab, causing or risking a catastrophe, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture and deliver, misdemeanor counts of endangering another person, possession of a small amount of marijuana, along with summary traffic offenses. Clawson is in Indiana County Jail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing with District Judge Christopher Welch.
Clawson does have a history with the Indiana County Judicial System. Court documents showed one case that was listed as “inactive” involving him. He was wanted for drug-related crimes, including possession of ephedrine, goes back to May of 2018.
