While today may be calm weather-wise, a major winter storm is expected to hit the Indiana County area on Saturday.
How much snow will hit the county is not exactly known, as the warm front is expected to run right through the middle of the county. That means some areas may see snow with a wintery mix of precipitation, with as much as 4-6 inches in some areas. But in the areas where the air will be colder, it will be all snow, with the possibility of 12-15 inches at the most. Right now, current forecast models show that the northern third of the county may see the higher snowfall totals, but that could change based on where the warm air ends up.
After the storm on Sunday, Chris Leonardi of the National Weather Service said that the area will go into a deep freeze.

Temperatures are expected to head back up into the 30s by Tuesday.
