Martha (Semsick) Barletta, 87, died Monday, December 17, 2018 while at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Walter and Exie (Bagley) Semsick, she was born May 22, 1931 in Indiana, PA.
Martha was a 1949 graduate of Indiana High School where she played the trumpet in the band and continued to play throughout her life. She was employed by Syntron-FMC Company for over 40 years. Martha was a very faithful, Christian woman. She was an aunt, second mother and friend to young and old alike and was known as “Aunt Martha.” Martha lived each day to the fullest with her thoughtful actions and loving heart. She will be remembered for her generous soul and willingness to help others and will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
Surviving is her life long love and companion, Babe Lamantia; sister, Mary Simon; nieces and nephews, Dennis, Cheryl, Shawn, Carrie, Eric, Wade, Nathan, Craig, Beth, Kaylie, Sid, Leslie, Chanel, Kai, Brenda, Ken, Shavon, Jason, Sherry, Terry, Crystal, Dave, Terry, William, Lucie, Rodney, Mary, Brandon, Eddie, Tom, Louie, Maxine, Ruth, Joe, Eddie, Natalie, Trigger, Josh, Zack, Laura and of course, Rod, Roseann, Gia and Diora; among other nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter, Peck, William, Robert, Jack; sisters, May Yingling and Margaret Fedinick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Indiana, PA.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Terry Semsick, officiating.
Interment in the Oakland Cemetery will follow.
