Marlene Marie (Shutco) Alvarado, age 71 of Homer City, died Saturday December 15, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was born in 1947 in Northern Cambria to Paul and Josephine Gallo Shutco.
Marlene enjoyed a career in nursing in Albuquerque, NM caring for the elderly.
She was a painter, crafter, reader, writer of poems and an avid collector of Indiana, PA memorabilia and was very proud of having worked at Stapleton’s Restaurant.
Marlene was on the hospitality committee at her church, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines site.
She is survived by her husband Marcos Alvarado, Homer City; one son and one daughter, Mark Alvarado, Homer City; Rhonda Adamson and husband Martin, Homer City; one grandson, Ian Adamson; one sister Martha (Martie) Kuleski and husband Vincent, Indiana; and by the following nieces and nephews, Michelle McCaulley and husband Ted, Michael Maggio and wife Julie, Daniel Kimmel and wife Christy, Romylos Dokos, Mikayla Dokos, Myla Maggio, Victoria Kimmel, Andrew Kimmel; one uncle and one aunt, Joseph Gallo and companion Millie Ratay, Lena Buratti and husband Aldo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elaine Kimmel and a brother-in-law John Kimmel.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 7 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 7 P.M. with Deacon Steve Black officiating. Private interment will be made in Northern Cambria.
