INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana borough police report an act of criminal mischief that happened between midnight and 11:45 AM yesterday. Police report that someone broke off the little free library cabinet from it’s wooden stand in the 100 block of South 5th Street near Horace Mann Elementary School. No word if any books were taken in the incident. If you have any information, call police at 724-349-2121.
An Indiana man was arrested this morning on public drunkenness charges. Borough police say that at 2:28 this morning, they saw 29-year-old Samee James Franklin Martin walking in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. He was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was a risk to himself and others. Martin was taken to IRMC, where he was kept for further evaluation. Martin was issued a citation for public drunkenness.
PSP-KITTANNING
Charges have been filed against an Avonmore man for an incident in South Bend Township. State police say on Saturday at 11:30, State Police from the Kittanning Barracks say that a 40-year-old Avonmore man and a 36-year-old Spring Church woman were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical and led to minor injuries to the woman. The man was taken into custody by police on a charge of simple assault. He was arraigned and is now in Armstrong County Jail. Charges will be filed through District Judge Keven McCausland’s office.
PSP-INDIANA
State police from the Greensburg Barracks are investigating a case where nude photographs of minors were transmitted in Derry Township. Police say that images of a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were sent on November 15th. The suspects are a 17-year-old boy and three girls, two are 17 while the other is 18. Police have not indicated whether or not there have been charges filed, and do not reveal the method of transmission.
State Police are investigating a case of theft of a debit card in the Lucernmines area. Police say that between December 11th and 14th, someone gained access to an InFirst Bank Card belonging to a 63-year-old Lucernemines man and used it to make $231.16 in purchases. The investigation continues.
