Albert Gordon Schrecengost, age 86, of Indiana, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home.
He was born in 1932 in Indiana to Dean and Clara Whittingstall Schrecengost.
Gordie had served in the US Army National Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the American Legion, Indiana Bow & Gun Club, and a former of the NRA.
Gordie was employed by McCreary’s Tire and Rubber Co for 34 years as a tire builder.
He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing and “Sunday Driving.” He was a stranger to no one.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years – Lois M. Bowman Schrecengost, Indiana; three daughters and three sons – Victoria Kent and husband Victor, Greenville; Catherine Fox and husband Robert, Fayetteville, NC; Thomas and wife Nancy, Manheim; Robert, Indiana; Amy George and husband Larry, Shelocta; John and wife Paula, Lebanon; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers – Dean and Ronald.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10 A.M. to 12 noon at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Thomas Rose officiating. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery, Shelocta.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bernard Coppolo for the many years of care, attention and friendship to Gordie. Additionally, they would like to acknowledge Asera Care hospice and Beacon Ridge Nursing Home for their amazing care.
