Preliminary hearings are set for several cases today in Indiana County’s District Courts, with many of them for drug or DUI-related offenses. Two people, however, are facing their preliminary hearings for other crimes.
One of those is 30-year-old Henry Charles Hobart of Homer City. He is facing four counts of theft by unlawful taking, two counts each of burglary, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and misdemeanor loitering or prowling at night. The charges stemmed from an incident on November 17th when he allegedly broke into some homes in the Homer City area. One of the homes was burglarized was the home of Bill Young, which was outfitted with security cameras that reportedly caught Hobart in the act, rummaging through the kitchen. He has been in prison in lieu of $100,000 bail since his arrest. He goes before District Judge Susanne Steffee this afternoon.
The other case involves Alexis Semuske of West Lebanon, who is charged with misdemeanor simple assault and two summary charges of harassment for an incident on November 17th. She will go before Judge Steffe this morning.
