Carolyn J (Lowman-Adcock) Hartman, 77, of Blairsville,
formerly of Indiana, went peacefully to the Lord on October 31,
2018.
Carolyn was born in 1941 in Buffalo, NY.
The second oldest of eleven children, she is the daughter of
Robert Lowman (deceased) and Imogene (Brickell) Lowman of
Scottsdale, AZ. In addition to her father, brother Richard and
sister Marcia, Carolyn was preceded in death by her first
husband Jim Adcock of Indiana, and her second husband,
Rodney Hartman of Kittanning. Carolyn is survived by her son
Bradley Adcock and his spouse Julie of Indiana; daughter
Jennifer (Adcock) Henry and spouse Tim of Blairsville; mother
Imogene (Brickell) Lowman of Scottsdale AZ, siblings Robert of
Scottsdale AZ, Dean (Suzy) of Johnson City TN; Ronald of
Scottsdale AZ, Kay Peternay (John) of Indiana; Marlene Berfield
(Gene, deceased) of Indiana; Vivian Hadder (Don) of Scottsdale
AZ; Jerry (Shelly) of Indiana; Kimberly Sundvold (Steve) of
Queen Creek AZ; countless loving nieces, nephews, cousins and
a large group of dear friends.
Carolyn attended the Curry Run Church in Shelocta and Grace
Bible Chapel in Black Lick. Carolyn brought love and joy by
playing piano and organ for church services. She also performed
those services for other churches and congregations throughout
her life. Her love for the piano and music was a highlight for
those who were able to experience her passion. Carolyn was a
former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Indiana
where she was active in the church choir, she played the piano
and served as backup organist. Carolyn was also a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth and enjoyed the close
relationships she developed with those organizations. Carolyn
was an avid bird watcher and could name for you any western
PA bird you saw. She was always up for a road trip or a visit
with family, often staying in Scottsdale for weeks on end. She
had a great sense of adventure and was always up for exploring
new things. Carolyn was also a “foodie” and enjoyed
experiencing new foods and tastes and the sense of love and
friendship that always accompanies a good meal.
Death: October 31, 2018
Carolyn worked for Fisher Scientific in Indiana PA for 10 years,
later retiring from S&T Bank in Indiana in 2003.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service
will be held on Sunday at 1:30 P.M. at the Curry Run Church,
Shelocta, with Rev. Thomas Spiker and John Johnson officiating.
Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana PA.
Carolyn and family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be
made to the Curry Run Church, 8405 Rt. 422 W, Indiana, PA.
