An Indiana County Court jury yesterday found 46-year-old George Dorsey of Pittsburgh guilty of statutory sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
Dorsey, who is already serving time in Allegheny County for several sexual assault crimes, was arrested on December 4th of last year after an investigation by state police determined that he engaged in several sexual activities with a minor. The crimes were dated January 3rd of 2017.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Geoffrey Kugler prosecuted the case. The jury acquitted Dorsey on charges of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and aggravated indecent assault of a child.
District Attorney Pat Dougherty says Dorsey will be sentenced on January 14th. He will be transferred back to the Allegheny County Jail until then.
