The new State System Chancellor came to IUP’s campus for the second time this month, but this time, it was for his official tour of campus.
Being an avid biker, Chancellor Dan Greenstein came to campus ready to bike around early this morning to kick off a busy day at IUP touring the facilities and meeting with many members of the IUP community. Over 100 people were in attendance for an open forum that Greenstein held at the KCAC and the discussion topics ranged from the financial health of the state system to bringing in students from U.S. territories and other countries. One of the purposes of Greenstein’s trip to all the universities in the state system is to find out “What kind of system are we?”, and he talked about what he found as answers to that question from IUP. Those answers included the diversity of students and the variety of programs that are being offered at IUP.
Greenstein said that one of the biggest challenges for his position is to improve the financial health of the State System while keeping things affordable for students, and it something that may have to re-work a good ammount of how the State System is run.
As part of his visit, Chancellor Greenstein was presented with an IUP bicycling jersey and water bottle as tokens of appreciation for his visit.
