The ARIN Intermediate Unit has hired a new Director of Special Education. Kimberly Rode, an ARIN school psychologist, will oversee the IU’s special education programs, which serve students between the ages of 3 and 21.
Rode’s new job also requires that she serve as the primary liaison for special education between the state Education Department and ARIN’s eleven school districts and two Career and Technical Centers. Rode holds her master’s degree in in school psychology from IUP and expects to complete her doctorate in administration and leadership studies at IUP next August. She will replace David Norris, who will retire early next year after six years as the director.
