The IUP Crimson Hawks football team had tou outlast not only a strong Gannon team, but four weather-related delays to secure a 43-34 victory over the Griffins.
After a pre-game delay, the teams exchanged leads eight times in the first half, with Gannon going into halftime with a 28-26 lead. IUP would take the lead for good in the third after Lenny Williams scored on a 29-yard touchdown run. That was one of four touchdowns for the Senior QB, the other three passing touchdowns. Junior kicker Dillon Sarka was busy with three field goals. Including all the delays, the game took over six hours to complete.
IUP returns home next week to play Seton Hill.
