The Indiana School District’s Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee met last night and got to talk with the firm performing a feasibility study on the district’s buildings.
Representatives with Architectural Innovations were on hand for the committee meeting giving an extensive update on the process for completing the study. Jan Brimmeier with Architectural Innovations said that as of right now, the study is still in the beginning phases. She said that over the next few months, there will be meetings between Architectural Innovations and the district concerning what will the curriculum will look like 10 years from now.
While details and results are still in the early phases and are not being released, several members of the community made some suggestions, including consolidating the elementary classes to one building, and a second idea that would use Eisenhower as the district’s kindergarten school, East Pike and Ben Franklin as the main elementary schools for grades 1-5, and move the district offices to the Horace Mann School.
The final plan is expected to be ready for presentation in January or February of next year.
