At last night’s meeting, the White Township Planning Commission approved the final site plan for the URBN distribution site at Windy Ridge.
The 836,000 square foot distribution center broke ground two weeks ago. Michael Gladnick of Advanced Geoservices said they want to get underway as quickly as they can, and that may mean breaking the project up into phases. This is due to them applying for a wetland encroachment permit from the DEP. If they don’t get it by the start of construction, they will begin construction in the unaffected area, and the section in the wetland encroachment area will be taken on later. It is the preference of Advanced Geoservices that everything gets underway at the same time.
The building will feature 377 parking spaces for employees, with the ability to expand to 761 spaces. Jennifer Calligas, Senior Planning Manager for URBN said that much of the truck traffic will move quickly through the facility. This will be done by a truck entrance to one side of the building leading to a one-way road going behind the facility to the loading docks. There are areas for trailer storage if there needs to be some storage overnight. The trucks will continue on the one-way road to an exit on the opposite side of the property from the truck entrance.
In other business, the final minor subdivision was approved for the Community Guidance Center on East Pike Road.
