State police have gone into more detail about an arrest that happened over Homecoming Weekend where a man implicated himself via social media posts.
Troopers say that on Saturday, October 6th around 10:00 PM, a trooper on patrol on Oakland Avenue at School Street tried to apprehend a man later identified as 19-year-old Jacob Michael Griak of Hastings for urinating in public. When the trooper got close, Griak started to run, and when police tried to grab him by the backpack, he slipped out. This started a multi-agency foot pursuit, where Griak was able to elude capture.
Later on, State Police were notified that Griak had posted about the incident on his Snapchat account. He was apprehended on Monday at his home and lodged in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Griak faces charges of misdemeanor resisting arrest and summary disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:45 PM on October 24th.
