The Indiana County Commissioners approved allocating some funds for a project for the Chevy Chase Community Center.
At their meeting this morning, the Commissioners approved allocating $10,000 of local community development funds and another $10,000 from Marcellus Shale impact fee funds for some much needed improvements for the community center. Byron Stauffer of the Office of Planning and Development said that the money would be used for repairs related to recent water damage, and efforts to mitigate those problems. No money from the county’s general fund will be used for this project.
In other business, the commissioners accepted the renewal of the Emergency Management Performance Grant to help reimburse the county for up to 50% of the salary for both the director and assistant director for the Emergency Management agency, and declared the week of October 21st to the 27th as National Business Women’s Week in Indiana.
