While the football game may not have gone to everyone’s liking, Homecoming at IUP this year was reported as “mild” for both Friday and Saturday nights.
According to I-ACT representative Michelle Fryling, Friday night had no large or disorderly gatherings reported, and police agencies reported 19 arrests, including 10 students, mainly on Alcohol and drug-related charges.
Saturday night was the night that the bulk of the activity was expected. Between 3 PM Saturday and 7 AM Sunday, police agencies reported 31 arrests, and there were investigations into two large gatherings reported, but while some large parties were seen, crowds did disperse as the evening went on and no arrests were reported as a result of those incidents.
Fryling also reported that over 400 IUP Students were up Sunday morning for the community cleanup that started at 10:00 AM. Those conducting the cleanup included fraternity and sorority members and many of IUP’s athletes.
