Homecoming weekend kicked off last night as IUP’s KCAC played host to a hip-hop concert geared for students. That means that local law enforcement agencies are on the alert for increased activity over the weekend.
Indiana Police Chief William Sutton said they are ready for the upcoming weekend. In fact on Wayne Avenue coming into town, signs have gone up warning people of increased pedestrian traffic over the weekend.
Sutton said that like previous years, they will receive some assistance from other municipal police forces. Also working with Indiana Borough Police will be State Police forces, including their mounted patrol. And with that comes a reminder that it is against the law to willfully or maliciously taunt, torment, tease, beat, kick, or strike a police animal.
