The State Corrections Department is inviting bids for some upgrades at SCI Pine Grove.
Bids are due November 14th for a “perimeter intrusion detection system”, which would include replacement of the vertical taut wire system and the installation of an underground rat wall, which is meant to prevent infiltration into the prison.
The state estimates a cost of between $2 million and $5 million for the work, and they’ll hold a pre-bid conference on October 18th at the prison’s main administrative building.
