White Township Supervisors at last night’s meeting discussed how things went during the recent heavy storms.
Township Manager Milt Lady said that the stormwater system and road systems held up well after this recent round of storms, but the sewage systems did see some problems. He added that over the last two weeks, property owners have called in requesting assistance with flooded basements. The township does do video investigations of private laterals, and typically found leaks in the pipe or roots breaking the pipe.
Lady said that those inspections can still be requested by calling the Township office.
In other business, the township announced that they received $79,154 from the foreign fire distribution fund. The money comes from a fee collected on any fire insurance policies that are filed from out of state insurance companies. 90% of the money will go to the Indiana Fire Association, with the remaining 10% will go to Creekside Fire Department.
Also, the fall leaf collection schedule was announced. Leaf collections will take place on Mondays from October 22nd to November 19th with the exception of November 12th, as that is the observance of Veterans’ Day. The leaf collection will then be held on November 13th.
Also, Trick or Treating was scheduled for Wednesday, October 31st from 6-8 PM.
