With Colorado State-Pueblo’s upset of then-No. 1 Texas A&M-Commerce, 23-13, IUP moved up to No. 2 in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll on Monday.
IUP, which was at No. 3, improved to 4-0 Saturday by defeating Mercyhurst, 34-7. IUP received five first-place votes in the polling.
Minnesota State took over the No. 1 spot in the poll with 26 first-place votes. This is the 23rd time the Mavericks have been ranked No. 1, with the last time coming in the final regular season poll of 2017.
IUP is followed by Grand Valley State (Mich.), Ferris State (Mich.) and Midwestern State (Texas) to round out the Top 5.
