The Indiana School board met last night and approved two agreements with Architectural Innovations for some office projects at two elementary schools.
The projects would focus on the schematics for new office configurations at East Pike and Eisenhower elementary schools, which according to Terry Kerr, the chair of the Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee, is a project that is a long time coming.
The only vote against it was from Doug Steve, who said the district should wait for the results of a feasibility study before starting any projects, in case the feasibility study shows the district should go to a three-school system.
In other business, Superintendent Michael Vukovich announced that there will be a Community Threat Preparedness forum on October 2nd at the Junior High School from 6-8 PM. Vukovich said Gittings security will be on hand to discuss active shooter training and emergency preparedness.
Vukovich also said that upcoming active shooter drills for students will not feature the sounds of gunshots, saying it’s not appropriate for the drills.
