The Indiana School Board will meet tonight, and on the agenda, the board will look to approve some construction-related items.
One of those items will be a change-order for the recent East Pike Paving project in the amount of $8540. The draft agenda for the meeting does not state what the exact reason for the change order is. The board will also take a look at an agreement with Architectural Improvements for the schematic design phase of a new office configuration for East Pike elementary school. That agreement will not exceed $15,000 in costs. A similar agreement for Eisenhower Elementary School is also up for approval.
The board will also consider helping the White Township Public Parks by distributing their public needs survey on the district website and social media pages. There are also several motions that could hire some new personnel on the agenda, including after-school math instructors for the elementary and the junior high schools, six English tutors, and teachers for the SAT tutorials.
In Marion Center, the school board will look at revising their school calendar to add February 8 and 18 to the schedule to make up for school closures on September 7th and 10th as the district started to deal with mold in one of the elementary schools. The board will also consider hiring Doug Snyder as a new security officer for the district.
