PennDOT has announced that there will be some night-time flagging operations next week in the Route 119 construction area near Homer City.
This will only be for one night next week, as it scheduled to start at 7 PM Tuesday and run through Wednesday morning. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers on Route 119 between the Homer City Sheetz and the intersection of 119 and 56 for bridge beam-setting operations. Motorists should expect congestion and stops in the construction zones during those times.
This is another big part of what has been termed as the Homer City Three Bridges project, which is rehabbing the bridge carrying 119 over Yellow Creek, and removing bridges over Tide Road and a private railway. The road work will create an intersection at 119 and Tide road.
The two-year project is slated to be completed in the fall of 2019.
