Dorothy M. (Mitchell) Brendlinger, age 93, of Brush Valley,
died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the home of her
daughter.
She was born in 1925 in Brush Valley Twp., to Charles H. and
Elsie E. Gressley Mitchell.
Mrs. Brendlinger was a member of the Brush Valley Chapel,
Brush Valley, the Brush Valley Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, the
former True Blue Sportsman Club, and the Brush Valley Senior
Citizens. She had also been a former member of the Brush
Valley Birthday Club, served as Auditor of Brush Valley Twp.,
and as clerk and judge of Election Board in Brush Valley Twp.
She belonged to the AARP, and the Mohawk Bowling Leagues
for 25 years.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, bowling, hockey, and
reading.
Dot enjoyed her Christmas Tree truck driving and driving bus for
United School District.
Surviving are four children -Timothy Brendlinger and wife
Linda, Brush Valley; Diana Shearer, Brush Valley; William
Brendlinger and wife Lynn, Brush Valley; Joseph Brendlinger
and wife Jennifer, Cramer; eight grandchildren, fifteen great
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by her special friends and caregivers – Helen Shirley,
Becky Boring, and Helen Louise Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E.
Brendlinger in 1990, and the following siblings – Florence Stiles,
Wilbur Mitchell, Viola Stiles, Pete Mitchell, Leora Cramer,
Mary Sesock, Pearl Juart, Blair Mitchell, and infant Wayne
Mitchell.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 7 P.M. at the
Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service
will be held Monday at 11 A.M. with the Pastor James Sunseri
officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery,
Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
