There were no reported injuries in a crash involving an Indiana Area School District School Bus Wednesday afternoon near the Point on Seventh Street and Wayne Avenue.
Indiana Fire Association assistant chief Ron Moreau said that the driver of a passenger car had a medical emergency and his vehicle rear-ended a school bus carrying students from both the Indiana Junior and Senior high schools. EMT’s, police and fire officials were called to the scene at 2:54 PM, and school district officials were there later on. Bob Rizzo of the Indiana School District said that all the students and the bus driver were OK, and there was minimal damage to the bus, if anything at all.
Students on the bus may be delayed in getting home because they were checked out on-scene by EMT’s. The driver of the car, who has not been identified yet, was taken to IRMC as a precaution.
