One of the three people involved in the killing of a Cherryhill Township couple at their apartment outside of Clymer in 2016 was sentenced to life in prison yesterday without the possibility of parole.
21-year-old Justin Stevenson pleaded guilty on August 24th to two counts of murder in the second degree. The plea helped him avoid prosecution on first degree murder charges and a possible death sentence. Stevenson, along with 20-year-old Nathanial Price and 17-year-old Isaiah Scott went to the apartment to buy marijuana from Timothy Gardner, but police said that the two jumped him and beat Gardner to death with a metal pipe. One of the two defendants then went upstairs and killed Jacqueline Brink by beating her with a baseball bat because she would have been a witness. Stevenson has blamed Price for Brink’s death, but Price has blamed Stevenson.
Police said Scott acted as a lookout. His case was transferred to juvenile court. Price faces two counts of criminal homicide, and single counts of robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury and conspiracy to that crime. Price is scheduled for a criminal call hearing on December 7th.
