An Indiana man with an extensive criminal history is facing new charges in separate drug cases from last spring.
Indiana Borough Police say members of the Indiana County Drug task Force made a controlled buy of heroin on May 7th from 31-year-old Steven Oswalt while he was in the 300 block of Grant Street. That same day, Oswalt was taken into custody for a controlled buy with members of the Drug Task Force on April 25th in the 400 block of Grant Street. While in custody, police found 46 stamp bags of heroin, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
In all, he is facing charges in three cases, for selling drugs in April and in May, and for possessing drugs in May. Oswalt was taken into custody again this past Friday. The combined charges in the three cases include five counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver; three counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; and a single count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
District Judge Guy Haberl ordered Oswalt to the Indiana County Jail, setting bond at a combined $40,000 straight cash.
