Susan Edna (Mell Shaffer) Blatt, 58, of Home, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at her home.
A daughter of the late Franklin E. and Rose Ann Anthony Mell, she was born Sept. 6, 1960, in Natrona Heights. Mrs. Blatt was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her dog Speedy, driving her Mustang and just being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle R. Blatt, of Home; three children: Bobbie Jo Truckley and husband Dustin, of New Bethlehem; Richard R. Treese, Jr., of Home; Carrie Lyn Johnson and fiancé Matthew Wills, of Curwensville; two brothers: John A. Mell and wife Janie, of Creekside; Terry Mell, Sr. and wife Tina, of Elmora; three sisters: Norma Lambert and husband Dan, of Mineral Point; Tina Bennett and husband Brian, of Ford City; Rose L. Ferguson, of Creekside; four stepbrothers: Walt Weston, Glen Weston, Howard Weston and Ralph Weston, all of Creekside; a stepsister, Yvonne Wells, of Vandergrift; 11 grandchildren: Kayla, Champagne, Dakota, Darenger, Trinidy, Magnus, Hayley, Zackery, Isabella, Matthew Wills, Jr., Nyelee; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Anthony, Frank Mell, Norbert Mell; two sisters: Barbara Mell, Shirley Anthony; her stepfather, Grant Weston; a stepbrother, Floyd Weston; a stepsister, Elsie Weston; and a
grandson, Dustin Truckley, Jr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Tom Spiker officiating.
