After about a year of work, the Indiana County Sustainable Economic Development Tax Force is getting ready to have a public summit meeting to discuss their final report.
Established in 2017, the task force was charged with developing strategies to further the creation of jobs, communities, and rural economic vitality. The final report will address four different topics:
- Sustainable agriculture
- Renewable Energy
- Sustainable Building Construction
- Environmental Restoration and Stewardship
The four topics are tailored to Indiana County. In addition to releasing their final report, there will be an opportunity to hear from guest speakers, including the keynote speaker, Scott J. Sheely, the special assistant for Workforce development in the PA Department of agriculture. Several other speakers are scheduled throughout the day.
The event is free. You can contact the commission by logging on to www.sustainableindianacounty.org. The summit meeting is set from 9 AM to 3:30 PM at Rustic Lodge on September 28th.
