Carol Anne Stuchell, 70, of Cherry Tree, PA died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at AristaCare @ Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale, PA.
The daughter of O. Jay and Mary Evelyn (Pitt) Fulmer, she was born on July 4, 1948 in Rayne Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
A graduate of Marion Center High School, Carol Anne went on to further her schooling by earning a payroll and bookkeeping degree from ARIN Business College.
A woman of great faith, she was a longtime member of the Twolick Baptist Church in Dixonville, PA. For years she served as a church pianist. In 1978 Carol Anne was instrumental in the creation of the Twolick Baptist Church Youth Choir. In more recent years, she had been a member of the Keystone Heirs, a Southern Gospel/Bluegrass Gospel group as a piano player and vocalist.
Before retiring at the age of sixty-three, Carol Anne worked for twenty years at The Open Door in Indiana, PA, where she was the safe driving instructor; in charge of the court reporting network for dui and served as a drug and alcohol counselor. Carol Anne had also been employed as a payroll bookkeeper for the Indiana County Group Homes.
Carol Anne loved spending time in the outdoors going fishing, camping and watching the elk. Following her retirement, she got back into motorcycle riding.
Some of her favorite pastimes were reading; crocheting; cooking and spending time with her various beloved cats over the years. She had loved raising and caring for her Siamese cats in particular.
Carol Anne married Neil L. Stuchell on October 29, 1990 and they shared almost twenty-eight years of marriage together.
She is survived by her husband, Neil of Cherry Tree, PA; her son, James. H. “Jimmis” Rice, II and wife Brenda of Clymer, PA; her eight grandchildren and her five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brother, Jay “Sam” Fulmer and wife Kathleen of Brookville, PA; her two sisters: Vernice Wimble and friend, Roy Woods of Indiana, PA and Mary Bonnie Kunkle of Marion Center, PA and her two brothers-in-law: Bill Lockhart of Smicksburg, PA and John Wallace of Vandergrift, PA and her very special friend, Bonnie Meyer of Marion Center, PA.
Carol Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jay L. Buterbaugh on February 1, 2011; her granddaughter, Abigail Rice; her brother: Joseph Fulmer and her two sisters: Barbara Lockhart and Leda Wallace.
As per Carol Anne’s request, there will not be a viewing. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Twolick Baptist Church in Dixonville, PA with Pastor Calvin Duvall officiating.
