CURVE LOSE PLAYOFF OPENER TO AKRON

Akron got help from former American League MVP Josh Donaldson, who homered, as Akron topped the Altoona Curve, 5-2, last night in game one of the Eastern League playoffs.

Altoona was 0 for 7 with runners in scoring positions.
