Three people from Blairsville were involved in a crash on Wednesday in Unity Township where two of the three were injured.
State Police say that this was in the Eastbound lanes of Route 30 near Mountain Laurel Plaza. Both 29-year-old Sarah Penich and 66-year-old Samuel Taylor were in the same lanes, and Taylor had slowed down due to some stopped traffic ahead. Penich fell asleep at the wheel and and lost control of her car, rear-ending Taylor’s truck. Both vehicles were able to make their way to a nearby gas station parking lot to get out of the way of traffic.
Penich and her passenger, a two-year-old boy, were taken to Forbes Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Taylor was not injured.
